Sittaung Bridge (Moatpalin) situated on Yangon-Mawlamyaing Highway, linking KyaikHto Township in Mon State and Waw Township in Bago Division, constructed by Road Construction Special Group-4 of Public Works of the Ministry of Construction was opened on Saturday with an address by Prime Minister General Thein Sein. The Prime Minister said that, since the government has been building roads and bridges in States and Divisions throughout the nation, road network system that is accessible to high and low in the Union has emerged. The Sittaung Bridge (Moatpalin) is the 236 facility, vitally important for the road network system.


Sittaung Bridge (MoatPalin) is built 4 miles down stream from Sittaung Bridge (TheinZaYat). The main bridge is a 1,365 feet long steel framed facility. The approach road from Kyaik Hto side is 244.1 feet long reinforced concrete type and from Waw side is 783.6 ft in length making the total length of the bridge 2392.7 feet. The bridge has 28ft wide motor road and it has 6 feet wide pedestrian lanes on both sides. Its water clearance area is 295 feet wide and 20 feet high. It can bear 60 tons of loads.
