SEATS FEATURED:
Economy: Recaro BL3510 seats

A very nice first impression on board Pelita Air.

Since Pelita's relaunching in 2022, I have been dying to try this airline, and finally, I got the chance. It all started on Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport. With around 5.5 hours of transit time, I made my way to the domestic concourse still with plenty of time. I checked in around 4 hours before the flight and was attempting to switch to IP242, the earlier flight which turned out was no longer operating. Nevertheless, the ground staff gave me the chance to check in early, and I was soon headed to security, and to the gate, with around 3.5 hours to spare.

My aircraft was an ex-GoAir Airbus A320, PK-PWC, Pelita's 2nd Airbus A320. Boarding was done through gate 14's remote gate (14R). I was then directed to the bus, which took me all the way to the plane. Despite being a second-hand plane, the cabin was fresh, clean, and comfortable, in a very nice condition. The seats were still original from GoAir, a bunch of Recaro 3510 family seats (old SL3510A). It was easy to operate, comfortable thanks to the thick padding, and clean. There was only a safety card and an airsickness bag in the seat pocket, however.

Take-off was pretty much only slightly late, and then, I got to enjoy Pelita's In-Flight Entertainment service, branded "Starlight", using the Tripper app. It was speedy and had a very good layout, however, it had slightly less contents compared to Batik Air. The crews then commenced the snack service with the same enthusiastic, friendly, courteous, caring, and warm attitude. Due to this being a 45-minute flight and there were 180 passengers to take care of, the crews seemed a bit rushed and that distorted their friendliness a bit. The taro bread that I had was presented nicely in a separate box, and the taste was delicious albeit slightly sticky and rough.

The landing was 5 minutes early, and I disembarked last again because I wanted to take pictures with the crews. The purser, without a doubt, okayed my request and called the entire cabin crew forward while the ground staff members did their job cleaning the plane. The crews were so friendly that instead of me asking them what makes Pelita Air different, they were the ones asking me how my first flight with Pelita was; and that was the point that I gave my origami to them, which they found cute. Once done, I made my way to the bag claim area where I only waited less than 10 minutes for my bag to arrive.

Overall, Pelita made me love them at first sight, and while they were far from being Starlux despite both being new airlines, they had a great start and I can see them being Indonesia's Starlux.
