Welcome you all to the inaugural episode of NIV Baithak featuring Rama Vaidyanathan, leading exponent of Bharatanatyam and winner of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in dance.

In this episode, Rama ji speaks about her own journey over several decades, how it shaped her attitude towards dance, evolution of her personal style while also answering critical questions raised by rasikas and students. She also presents three pieces as a part of her demonstration - Mayura Alarippu, thumri and a Meera Bai bhajan.

The programme was hosted by Pritam Das, an young Bharatnatyam dancer.
