It's when I listen to this song and remember this story that I regain faith in humanity. The song, set during WW2, is about a German pilot who spared and escorted a damaged American bomber home without being shot down by flak from the Atlantic Wall. The pilots of each plane met years later and became friends.

Sabaton, my favourite band, did a song about the story and the descendants of the German pilot have already been in touch with the band.
