It's a bumper video today covering some of our spring projects on the homestead over the last three months. Winter seemed to drag on this year forcing us to postpone or adapt many garden plans. But finally in the last few weeks it has gone from chilly and drizzly to baking hot. Summer is here.

We've planted lots, and lots has been eaten by slugs, snails and caterpillars. So we planted more! We've let the grass grow long in one area to help pollinators and have been rewarded with the most stunning display of poppies. Brook was back out in a digger, this time with a dumper and skip to master too.

This video focuses on the joy and beauty in the last few months but as with all things, that's not the whole story. So this Sunday we will back (I know, we're like buses) with a chatty, podcast-style video discussing the ups and downs of the last 9 months.

Welcome to Living in the Loire, we are a young family in rural France, renovating previously poorly converted barns. We aim to do most of the work ourselves, being as frugal and as eco as possible. We are learning on the job and we hope to share the skills we pick up along the way.

When possible we will take you on a tour of the region (the garden of France) sharing with you the numerous chateaux, towns and markets.

As well as the house we will be transforming the garden, bringing part of it back to its previous use as a potager. This is our dream and one of the main reasons of leaving the city to move to the countryside in France.

Join us on our journey!
