Hi again friends!

Our last video from our Peru series, we finally were able to visit the illustrious and difficult to reach Machu Picchu. Now, we won't stall with facts about this historic site, but do want to provide information about where to buy MP tickets, train tickets, bus tickets, as well as any other important details that you will need that may hopefully make your trip more efficient.

How do you get to MP? In a nutshell, it is simple. You will take plains, trains, and automobiles.

1. Fly into Lima. Fly Lima to Cusco.

2. Train via Peru or Inca Rail from Cusco or Ollantaytambo to Aguas Caliente.

3. Take a bus from AC to MP.

First, buy your MP tickets from the official government website:

We recommend purchasing Circuits 1-4 and start with Circuit 1 which provides access to the view everyone wants. At the entrance to MP, Circuit 1 is on your left on the upper entrance above the bathrooms. Begin as early as possible or visit later in the afternoon. The site has less visitors during these periods and you can more easily navigate the walkways with fewer people. The misty mornings, low light, and peacefulness make for a photographers paradise as well.

Secondly, buy train tickets either through Peru Rail or Inca Rail. We recommend booking with Peru Rail because their train cars appeared to have more room, otherwise if this is a non issue, either company will suffice.

Third, bus tickets can be purchased in Aguas Caliente the night before visiting MP for $25 usd pp for adults for a roundtrip ticket. The address is Av. Hermanos Ayar S / N, before Puente Ruinas. It is open Monday to Sunday from 5am to 9pm.
