Part 1 of 2. From Lake Lauzon in Ontario, Jim Allan flies his 172 on floats all the way to Yellowknife then embarks on a Barrenland trip to the Thelon headwaters. Stops along the way include Taltheile Narrows at Plummer’s Lodge (with one of the only gravel 737 strips around), Reliance (where Roger Caitlin holds his fuel cache), Whitefish Lake, Lynx Lake then back to Yellowknife and finally Ontario. This is Part 1 going from Yellowknife to Whitefish Lake. Strong winds and big waves keep us hunkered down for a couple of days. Part 2 will follow from there! Big country!
