Pop and Rock Legends: Music of the Beatles
The musical/cultural phenomenon of The Beatles, consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr has no parallel in pop music history. The group, primarily from the Irish lower-class section of Liverpool, first gained fame in Germany, then in their native England, followed by the U.S. and ultimately the world. They popularized the transition from the seminal R&B-based work of Chuck Berry to modern rock.
This piece consists of short references to some of their most popular tunes including “All my Loving”, “A Hard Day’s Night”, “Ticket to Ride”, “Here, There and Everywhere”, “Penny Lane”, “Lady Madonna”, and “Something”. Except for “Something” which was written by Harrison, the other songs were all penned by Lennon and McCartney.
