Let's start with the most important thing, with the impulsive and bright four.

One of the most controversial BMWs has received an update and a slight facelift.

The novelty is distinguished by new narrow LED headlights and the same vertically positioned BMW grille, because of which there was so much resistance. In the M package it received a new design, so now the company offers more options for customizing it.

The front bumper has also been slightly changed with more massive air intakes, their edging is now made in matte chrome.

But most of all I would like to focus on the front optics; the updated four has visually and functionally improved headlights. The LED units have been redesigned and feature a new daytime running light pattern reminiscent of a predator's gaze.

Low and high beam are generated from one LED module. And a pair of vertical arrow-shaped LED blocks contain the functions of side light, daytime running light and turn signal. From now on it will be like this.

Matrix headlights are available as an option for the four.

There is also something to be said about the Novini's taillights.

At the rear, so-called Laserlight LED optics are used, the same optics first used in the special edition of the BMW M4 CSL. Here, laser diodes illuminate each optical fiber bundle, creating the complex light graphics of the rear lights.

Precise lines of three-dimensional laser light give the rear headlights an exclusive and unique design; in addition, the shape of the lights itself has changed, so it will be very difficult to confuse the new product with the pre-restyle.

The interior has also undergone some transformations.

Now the base includes new sports seats, of course there is a large curved display cluster, this is modern BMW architecture.

But what future owners of the new product will most like is the new sports leather steering wheel with a polygonal rim and two spokes, but if you order the M Sport package there will be a leather-wrapped steering wheel in a three-spoke design with a flat lower rim and an invisible center mark.

Both steering wheels are equipped with backlit multifunction buttons and gear shift paddles. So the old steering wheel is becoming a thing of the past and we will hope that the troika will also get these steering wheels, they are too good.

The updated four works under the latest generation iDrive, and its big disadvantage is that it is overloaded with unnecessary details and even the banal climate will now have to be adjusted via the touch panel, which is not always convenient.

The powertrain range for the updated 4 Series remains largely unchanged, and includes powerful and highly efficient petrol and diesel engines with TwinPower Turbo technology and electrification in the form of 48V mild hybrid technology. All are mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission as standard.

All six-cylinder in-line engines available in the new 4 Series, as well as the four-cylinder diesel unit, come with 48V mild-hybrid technology, delivering sharper power delivery and greater efficiency. The auxiliary electric drive is designed as a starter-generator and provides instantaneous power of 11 hp. in response to the slightest movement of the accelerator. This electrical booster enhances the dynamic response of the drive system during acceleration. The electric drive also assists the engine when driving at a constant speed, helping it operate within its optimal load range. The mild hybrid system is powered by a 48V battery, which is charged by a recuperative system. The energy collected in this way is used for the auxiliary electric drive, and is supplied to the 12 volt electrical system through a voltage transformer.

The engine range includes two 2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engines with a power of 184 hp. and 300 Nm, and the second option produces 245 hp. and 400 Nm. With this engine, the new product accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.7 seconds, and with a weaker version you will have to wait 7.5 seconds to see the first hundred.

There is also a four-cylinder 2-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 190 hp. and 400 Nm. But if this is not enough, then you should look towards the 3-liter inline turbo six with a capacity of 286 horsepower and 650 Nm. moment. Even with rear-wheel drive, the four with this engine accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.1 seconds.
