Gall Bladder is an important part of Abdominal Ultrasound.Should be inspected carefully for any abnormality.

Patient preparation is most important to rule out any pathology of GB.

Patient should have atleast fasting of 6-8 hours with the exception of plain water. ( plain water intake is allowed).

A normal GB should be distended in that fasting .Upper limit for wall thickness is 3mm. Bile should be clear . There should not be any calculi ,polyp or sludge in GB. No pericholicystic fluid is appreciated in normal GB.

GB neck and posterior wall should be inspected very carefully as it may possible there is calculi .
