How to tie the Double Bowline for rock climbing. I only tie in with 2 different knots, the double bowline backed up and the figure 8 which is what I recommend for every new climber. If the person you are climbing with doesn't know how to tie and inspect the double bowline just use the figure 8! Its the safer knot.
The biggest benefit of the Double Bowline is that it's easier to untie after being loaded. The negative is that the bowline is so easy to untie that it can work loose while climbing.
Always use a backup knot!
Find someone locally that can help teach you this knot also.
