Talk given by Dr. Randie Gottlieb on May 4, 2024

Dr. Gottlieb is the Founding Director and lead trainer for UnityWorks, an educational non-profit whose mission is to reduce prejudice, and to promote understanding of the oneness of humanity, the value of diversity and the need for unity―with a focus on K-12 schools.

She has worked as a teacher, school principal, university professor, and diversity trainer. Her work has taken her to over 30 countries, including 11 years in Puerto Rico where she served as the director of an international training center, produced community-service radio and television programs, and founded an elementary school. She is the author of over 14 books and curriculum guides, including the award-winning Teaching Unity, and holds degrees in education from Cal State, Boston University and Harvard.

In addition, she has been chased by street gangs in Morocco, worked as a child actor in Hollywood, played volleyball as a spiker on Team USA, created Montessori math materials with the native Ngäbe-Buglé people in the jungles of Panama, and earned a bachelor’s degree in wood design. When not busy spoiling her grandkids, she also enjoys playing pickleball, contra dancing and writing poetry.

Dr. Gottlieb draws her inspiration from the teachings of the Bahá'í Faith and its central principle of the oneness of humankind.
