Adam Shamil was recently selected to host the wedding reception of Dr Amalina Che Bakri & Alexander Charles. Dr Nur Amalina Che Bakri is a general surgeon and clinical research fellow in breast-cancer surgery at Imperial College London. Renowned for her outstanding academic achievements, she first attracted nationwide attention when she scored 17 1As in the national examination, SPM, a record in Malaysian education that she still holds.

Awarded the Kijang Emas Scholarship by Bank Negara Malaysia, Che Bakri pursued and fulfilled her long-held dream of becoming a doctor, graduating with a medical degree from Edinburgh Medical School, as well as a degree in pharmacology. She did a sub-internship in Harvard Medical School in the US, followed by a two year housemanship in Cambridge, simultaneously completing her Master’s in Translational Medicine and Therapeutics from the UK’s University of Cambridge.
After three postponements due to lockdown restrictions, in 2021, the popular Malaysian figure—who has a massive following on Instagram and Twitter—finally got married to her partner, Alexander Charles, in London.

With over 80 million total views and over half a billion impressions on social media, Adam Shamil is one of East Malaysia’s most celebrated digital personalities. Being one of the fastest growing content creators in Borneo, Adam Shamil had the pleasure to be the first east Malaysian to represent his country for Youtube’s Publicy Policy Summit in Los Angeles, California.

Among many of Adam’s notable achievements was being chosen by United International Pictures to interview the casts and director of Pacific Rim: Uprising in Beijing, China, making him the first person from Borneo to have personally interviewed Hollywood stars. He is also the first digital personality from East Malaysia to have been featured by Netflix for a commercial of a nationwide scale.

Voted as one of Malaysia’s top 100 travel & tourism personalities, Adam Shamil has had the privilege of partnering with airlines and tourism organisations which have given him myriads of exciting opportunities to travel the world, namely North Africa, Los Angeles, USA, Australia, Busan, Korea and Taiwan, to name a few.

From 2019-2021, Adam Shamil has been entrusted to co-direct, script-write and translate a commercial for Petronas in conjunction with the celebration of Kaamatan; a form of harvest festival celebrated annually in the state of Sabah in Malaysia. This is the first time that a Sabahan has ever been appointed to direct and script-write a major Petronas commercial.

Aside from content creation, Adam Shamil is also a professional trilingual emcee who has served over 80 brands nationwide with more than 5000 hours of speaking, since the tender age of 16.

In July 2018, Adam Shamil graduated with a British degree with Honours in the field of Film & Television studies from the University of Nottingham.
In 2021, Adam Shamil started an initiative to raise funds for victims who have been devastated by flood in Sabah. In merely 72 hours after starting his initiative, Adam Shamil has managed to amassed over 246,000 in total donation, nationwide, making it arguably the FASTEST CROWD-FUNDING BY AN INDIVIDUAL IN BORNEO, with almost quarter of a million dollars accumulated in merely 3 days.

Recently this year, Adam Shamil has been recognised by the British Publishing House (who delivered this book all the way from London) in the list of Most Successful Person in Malaysia.
