We refinished a vanity and I really wanted a faux wood top. We used the Old Masters Wood Grain Tool to create a faux wood top.

Step 1: Paint Base in Denali Chalky Chicks Furniture Paint

Step 2: Paint the top in Beach Wood Chalky Chicks Furniture Paint, Let Dry.

Step 3: Use Cottontail Chalky Chicks Furniture Paint one strip at a time to paint and immediately use the Wood Grain Tool to create the wood look.
Let Dry. (See video for example)

Step 4: Use a water based stain to go over the faux wood. Use a rag to spread the stain creating a darker wood color.

Step 5: Seal the top with our Low Luster Top Coat

Step 6: Finish your drawer pulls. We used Rustoleum Metallic Spray paint to achieve the color we are going for

Step 7: Use our Old Masters Wax to finish the base and drawer fronts of the vanity.

Let dry, and you're finished! Feel free to email us with any questions you may have. [email protected]
