Singing the national anthem is always a special experience for me. On this Memorial Day, I send my gratitude to all that protect our freedoms. This is a rendition of the Star Spangled Banner that we shared in Illinois this past weekend. Thank you to Mark Tonelli for joining me on guitar.
Star Spangled Banner (lyrics)
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
