I took Laura hiking in the Lake District. We took on Wainwright's Catbells from Keswick. We stayed at Lodore Hotel in Borrowdale as part of our 40th celebrations. The 7 mile 1500ft route is a great hiking route for beginners. Catbells is a proper little mountain with a scramble to get to the summit.

The views of the mountains and Derwentwater are spectacular on a sunny day, I love this area of the Lake District National Park.

Cat Bells is a favourite of many people who follow the Wainwright Walks. Some of the best Wainwrights are not necessarily the highest and this is certainly one of the best.
