We will climb the highest point in Mexico City, Cruz del Marqués Peak in the Cumbres del Ajusco National Park, a volcano less than 30 km south of this megapolis downtown with more than 20 million inhabitants.

Ajusco in Nahuatl means forest in the water, due to the presence of springs with forests. The conifers of Ajusco are essential for aquifer recharge. Recurrent rains are captured by the volcanic soil that recharges the underground rivers of the country's capital.

This volcano is ideal for practicing trekking.
