This is Remake It! Where we take another look at characters in Smash Bros. whose fighter designs have aged poorly, wandered too far out-of-character, or could otherwise benefit from a revisit, then theorycraft what a reworked and improved version of their moveset, playstyle, and other details might look like!

Up this time is a fighter who has embodied multiple characters across Nintendo's history...with a moveset that hasn't. We've had three different versions of Zelda take up the mantle in Smash, but with one shared moveset that's seen minimal changes, has been showing its age, doesn't tap into the character's legacy much beyond Ocarina of Time (and one move from Spirit Tracks), and...hasn't been very strong competitively ever. It's led to a handful of fans hoping Zelda can get a rework for the next Smash game that'll change that!

But what if I told you the newest Zelda actually gives us a means to address all of this? With the right changes to her moves, and an overhauled set of specials that emphasize her talent for time magic, we can turn what was once an underwhelming design into something fresh and exciting without abandoning the current moveset's strong points!
