Being confronted about something is never easy. But having to confront someone else about something is even more difficult. If you have been a manager at some point, you know how difficult that can be. Even if the evidence is clear, most people don’t like being told that they did wrong. And fewer people are willing to admit that they were wrong. So, when a manager has to confront an employee about something they have done, there is a need for both firmness and understanding.

In our passage today, we will see how Jesus confronted some people in Israel. In this instance, He was confronting the wicked, religious leaders of Israel. In a somewhat surprising move, Jesus confronted them by means of a parable. A parable has been defined as an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. In this case, the parable described the sinful behavior of the religious leaders and showed them the ultimate consequence of their sins if they did not repent. As we study the parable, we will see the details and also see how these people responded.
