Customer: Can you flatten the ends and get them parallel?
Me: Yep. We'll set them up in the lathe and turn the ends.
Ha! Not so simples when I get started.
The timber (macrocarpa) is as brittle as hell. Turning fresh air 90% of the time on end grain on logs that are misshapen is not fun.
They chip out something chronic.
I need a better solution.
This is what I came up with: A poor mans Wood Wizz.
