Its 1998 I had just moved to Laurel Run, PA from NJ (retired) a whole new world of photographing / videotaping trains had opened up to me here in North East PA. On one of my first outings I stumble on a then fledging Reading & Northern at Pittston Jct. Wow! That day back in 1998 the R&N was in the process of moving their RDG. T1 #2102 out of Steamtown which she resided for quite sometime to its R&N HQ in Port Clinton.

Gentlemen walked up to me asked what I was doing; I replied making video of this event. He asked “do you know the roads that follow the railroad?” I answered yes I’m going as far as Whitehaven.

The Gentlemen was Bill Fredrickson who was following the move, as most know, he is the main man in charge of keeping the R&N’s Pacific #425 running as well as rebuilding steam locomotives. This was the first time I had met Bill, I also met, and became friends with his son’s Chad, and Shane.
