Here is my very comprehensive review of the excellent RAF Cosford Airshow 2024, held at the superb free RAF museum at the base, which houses hundreds of exhibits of British, US and Luftwaffe planes, among others.

The airshow this year hosted one of the strongest line-ups for many years, including visitors from the French Air and Space Force including the Dassault Mirage 2000D's of the Couteau Delta demo team, giving a superb noisy and dynamic show.

The RAF were represented by the Red Arrows in their 60th display season and back to a full 9 ship. Also the Typhoon gave an excellent high powered show featuring the special D-Day striped camo liveried jet to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Operation Overlord.

The new first-ever F35 Lightning II demo was also performed by the 5th generation fighter jet, and also the new Chinook role demo was shown for the first time ever.

Classic aircraft were shown in the shape of Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, Catalina, and Flying Fortress types, and extreme aerobatics by the like of Rich Goodwin in his Muscle Pitts biplane.

Helicopters included the Wildcat, Wasp, and 4 ship Gazelle demo team.

On top of that there are many Sepecat Jaguars dotted around the site looking absolutely splendid - not to mention the odd Tornado.

The Eurofighter Test aircraft DA4 was also on show outside for the very first time after its' recent move from Duxford.

The only downside was the classic British Summer weather which was once again a total let down - but you can't have everything!

I have tried to incorporate as many acts as possible, but some were ruined by music and have had to be either eradicated completely (Sadly), or in the case of the couteau delta shortened significantly. Copyright issues rule unfortunately!
