Dominic Miller.
I am a guitarist best known for my association with Sting. I have recorded 7 albums and toured with him extensively since 1990 performing over 1,000 shows and still counting. We have co-written many songs together, the most known being "Shape of my Heart". I often get asked, "Aren't you fed up of being known as Dominic Miller, Sting's guitarist?". The answer is no because the 20 years I have worked with him have defined my career which I am very proud of. I still consider this to be the best "day job" in the world. I haven't come across any artist who comes close to matching his musicianship nor what he has achieved. His journey is also my journey, and a huge privilege to be a part of.

The times I haven't been working with Sting I have recorded about 200 albums with other artists whom I am also very proud to be associated with (see discography). Working with Phil Collins and the Pretenders in the late 80's opened the door to Sting and indirectly, everyone else. More importantly these sessions opened the door to my own confidence. With Phil Collins I learnt the art of playing simple or playing only what is best for the song. "Another Day in Paradise" is a good example of this and was a worldwide number 1.

When I am not working with Sting or other artists I have a solo career. I have recorded 7 albums of instrumental music and do occasional short tours (see dates). I treat instrumental compositions as if they are songs. This is partly influenced by working with singers and songwriters. I enjoy complete solidarity with these albums because I have no pressure to succeed. Recording and performing my own music with my friends (I have a very impressive phone book) is the reward for working with all the other artists.

When I am not working with Sting, other artists, or for myself, I am a husband (twice) and father to six. I don't do this role nearly as well as being a musician but I am more proud of this achievement than any of the above.
