Please follow the instructions below, and use good judgment in your self-care routine after your skin peel or treatment. Keep in mind to be simple, gentle, and sanitary for best results and safe healing. Watch our instructional video below if you need it.
What to Expect:
It is normal and expected to see your skin become red or darker. You may feel extremely dry and tight with some sensitivity. The existing pigment will look darker and very brown before it peels. A slight spicy burning sensation may occur when hydrating the new skin. Mild itching may occur, if this happens please follow the instructions mentioned below on how to calm down. Do not scratch skin.
Peeling may not occur until the 3rd day. It usually starts around the mouth and peels outward. The forehead and perimeter of the face is typically last to peel.
Directions:
● Use skincare that is free from heavy perfume or fragrance if possible. Brands like CeraVe or Cetaphil are safe.
● Gently cleanse your face AM and PM with a gentle cleanser.
● Please do not pick or pull your skin including scabs at any time after your
peel. It can cause scarring. Your skin will take about 4 to 7 days to completely peel depending on the strength of the peel or treatment you received. Receiving a body, chest or arm peel often takes longer (up to 3 weeks).
● Please do not exfoliate, avoid any face scrubs, acid-based products, or cleansing brushes/devices for two weeks. This includes loofahs and cleansing cloths.
● Please do not use any products that contain AHA, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Retin-A or any acne medication until your skin is finished peeling (usually 7-10 days).

● You may moisturize more throughout the day if needed to help soothe and comfort. Avoid all oils and oil moisturizers.
● You may use Aquaphor or Vaseline on areas that become very dry, cracked, chapped, or raw. It is normal to experience this around the mouth. It is expected and normal to peel twice around the mouth and chin area for stronger peels.
● To calm down inflammation and irritation, a cool splash of water, cold compress, or ice cube massage is recommended.
● For any major irritation or intense itchiness, 1% hydrocortisone (any brand) is great to help minimize symptoms.
● Use a generous amount of broad-spectrum SPF moisturizer in the morning (preferably SPF 30 or higher). Reapply if needed, especially if you are going to be exposed to UV for a long period of time over 1.5hrs or so. This is very important and will limit your skin from burning in the sun (even when it’s cloudy or when sitting by a window). As the skin is getting treated, it will become vulnerable and will help minimize the chances of more damage and discoloration.
● You may wear makeup the following day after treatment and during the week. Be sure to gently but thoroughly remove your makeup before bed.
● If you notice large pieces of skin peeling, you may gently cut the excess skin off with scissors, without pulling or tugging.
● Please refrain from waxing, tanning, or using sun-beds for at least 10 days after treatment. Also no spa services, skin treatments, injections, or permanent makeup during the week.
● Avoid heavy workouts or activities that cause sweating until your skin has fully peeled. Not doing so will cause sweat bubbles to form since it will be trapped underneath.
● Avoid hot water, saunas, jacuzzis, steam rooms, and pools.
● Keep sanitary with your skin, including towels, pillowcases, and phones.
