This week, Tyler and I tried 5 snacks that were suggested either as a popular costa rican snack, or our personal favorites.

Trying new foods and flavors while we travel is one of our favorite things to do, but we're far from any sort of food experts. Let us know if you've tried these snacks or your favorite flavors in the comments! Also, I'm really trying to get Tyler to cook on here so help me amp that up too please. Thanks.

Also, can someone help me explain to Tyler that money converts.... it doesn't translate.

Anyway, back to it-

BREAKDOWN:

Okay, snack #1: Lime Flavored Soldanza Platanitos (plantain chips). These were decent, but not our favorites - at least on their own. Honestly, they might be delicious additions to a chili recipe.

Snack #2: Pozuelos Cremas. These cookies were FABULOUS and even better with coffee. A delicious, lightweight snack that would be perfect to pack for a picnic or hike up the Arenal Volcano. 😍

Snack #3: Chíky cookies - these cookies tasted a bit like they'd been packaged for awhile to me. It's possible this was just the flavor. They're actually rated quite well online and were highly suggested to try as a snack. I did think they were much better after some time in the fridge.

Snack #4: Gallito Krunchy Bar - this is my very favorite chocolate bar here. We usually store it in the refrigerator and only eat a square or 2 per sitting. It lasts us quite some time. 10/10 recommend!

Snack #5: Chirulitos - we love these chips 'n salsa flavored sticks. They're horrible for you but goodness are they delicious. These are some of the most popular chips in town and it's very easy for me to understand why. These are a must try!
