Follow us to the beach town of Weligama, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 on one of the most enjoyable trips we’ve ever had.

They say you haven’t been to Sri Lanka if you don’t visit beautiful Weligama, so we made sure to include it in our trip.

Spending some time at the beautiful sandy beaches of Weligama was a lovely way to end our trip and we found the perfect accommodations at the amazing Tabula Rasa Resort.

As you can see in the video, the resort is brand new and absolutely magical, and as the owner told us, every style and detail on the property was hand-picked and styled by them personally. We checked into two separate air-conditioned bungalows with comfortable beds, modern amenities, and a view to die for!

The first thing we did after getting settled was taking a dip in the infinity pool. The water felt great after the long bumpy ride in the heat.

Waking up to the sounds of the wildlife and the morning song of the birds made us feel like we were one with nature. It was all about living in that moment.

The breakfast menu had two options, continental, and traditional Sri Lankan, and included tons of fresh fruits and juices.

And since we already had our day planned out, it was time to get to know the place a little better.

Chantal went first to check out their luxury spa where guests could get Ayurvedic massages while enjoying the magnificent views, sounds, and smells of the jungle.

Next, we took a tuk-tuk ride to the beautiful, golden-sand Weligama Beach. Weligama is famous for being a surfers paradise and home to one of the best surfing schools in Sri Lanka. As you can see, we really enjoyed brushing up on our surfing technique!

Once we were done hitting up all those waves, we found a cool rooftop restaurant where we enjoyed a healthy dinner, played cards, and enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere.

The next day, Chantal treated herself to a relaxing massage and, according to her, the guy had magical hands. But the pampering didn’t stop there. It continued with a facemask and eyelash tinting. Girls!

Since staying in one place is not how we roll, the next morning we headed to a nearby beach town called Unawatuna.

After a crazy bus ride, we ended up at another beautiful golden-sand beach where we relaxed and enjoyed a traditional roti-style dish known as Kottu.

Somewhere along the way, we lost Tyler who went for a massage and left his phone with Chantal. But luckily our search was short-lived.

Once we found Tyler, we took another super-busy bus back to the Tabula Rasa Resort in Weligama.

And if you ever thought the world was a big place, our encounter at Jungle Beach with a family we met in Nicaragua would prove otherwise.

I guess Sri Lanka really is a place of serendipity!
