In this video I'll be making water proof seat pads and scatter cushions for the garden seats and love seat I made in a previous video. Here is the link if you would like to see how I made the seats.

Now I've used 3" foam for the seat pads and wrapped them in 6 ounce wadding to give them a little more bounce then I used stockinette to hold things together and help when I insert then into the seat pad covers. I cut the seat pad tops and marked out the bases using Forest green water proof fabric and cut out 8 lengths of beige water proof fabric at 30 mm wide by 2 meters long as I'd need this for the piping edge I was going to make.

To make the piping I used 8 mm piping chord of which I'll leave a link as to where you can but it. I left a 1 inch gap before ~I started to sew in the piping chord. Once all the piping was made I the started to sew it on to one side of the scatter cushions and on the tops of the seat pads. Taking some No 5 continuous zip I sewed this on to one edge of the base of the seat pads and then progressed to sew up the corners so as to create a 3" edge all the way around. It was then time to sew on the top to the base sewing the zip onto one side of the top of the seat pad after I had sewn on the zip I carried on to sew all the way around the seat pad. I then progressed to turn the seat pad cushion the right way round and inserted the seat pad cushion and zipped it u. Now to make the scatter cushions It was the same process only using a scatter cushion inner was different.
