Once your team determines that a student could benefit from AT, where do you go from there? Joy Zabala developed the SETT framework, a model that promotes collaborative decision making and consideration surrounding the Student, Environment, and Tasks required of the student before trialing and selecting the appropriate Tool for success. Another AT professional, Kelly Fonner, added to Zabala's original framework for an even more in depth process of AT consideration, selection, and implementation.

Before watching this video, your team should print out at least one copy of the Fonner Modified SETT Framework to refer to as Mike explains each step of the process. You'll have time at the end of the video to decide if and how you can use or adapt this model to fit your own team's needs in the areas of AT consideration, tool selection, and implementation.
