Today we are painting a seascape at sunset, with acrylic paints. I don't use acrylics very often but but thought it would make a nice change to try them again.

Acrylics dry darker than when you apply them (not lighter as I wrote in my video!).

I used to paint with acrylic paints when I painted murals on walls (not graffiti!) - especially exterior murals as acrylic paint is very durable.

I have a very limited amount of colours left and the palette for this painting consisted of: Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Raw Sienna, Raw Umber, Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue and Lamp Black.

I mixed water with the paint to begin and then switched to a Matte Medium which I use like a glaze medium which thins the paint.

Hope you enjoy the video.
