Race for the Warrior is a program of the Northeast Indiana Base council which is a non-profit organization that provides relief and help to military personnel and veterans through the race. The race consists of several family-friendly events. There is a 5k Run/Walk, a 10k Run, 5k Ruck Run/Walk, 5k Adaptive Division, 5k Run with Your Dog, Kids Run / Training Trot, a 5k Virtual Race, a 10k Virtual Race, and Lunch with the Warriors. The "Ruck" Run/Walk allows participants to fill their Rucks with canned goods that are then donated to fight hunger through "Hope for Heroes", a program through Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana. Chairman of Race for the Warrior and Retired U.S. Army Captain Eric R. Flores along with Purdue University Fort Wayne ROTC Cdt. Brown discuss the race with the President and CEO of Community Harvest Food Bank, Carmen Cumberland.
