Here we take a closer look at a 1940 Underwood Master Typewriter. This beautiful streamlined machine was featured prominently at the World's Fair in New York in 1939. Underwood had a giant replica of this machine produced for their display at the fair, as this typewriter represented the modern look of typewriter technology.

In addition to its good looks, this typewriter has all the features one would expect from a standard office machine at the time, although it is a "carriage shift" typewriter, which would later be phased out in favor of the "segment shift" technology.

This particular model features pica font and still types like a dream!
