NOTuNOTme review of the ESEE (RAT) RC-6 knife. I've owned this 6 inch knife with 1095 carbon steel blade for around 3 years now. It's a good all round knife but not a great chopper due to the thin blade. Powder coating is excellent and does a great job of protecting the 1095 steel from rusting in damp conditions. A lot of people will be put off by the thin blade, opting for something more substantial. They will also be surprised at the weight and this is due to the canvas micarta handle.

This is first and foremost a survival knife and this explains some of choices made in it's design. It's tough, good looking, and is built to last. It can be expensive so hunt around for the best prices on the web. It remains one of my favourite knives.
