In this video I show you how to install an oil catch can in you car or truck.

An oil catch can is a collecting device that collects excess oil from piston blowby from the PCV system. It is connected by inlet and outlet hoses that go from the PCV valve into the intake manifold. Modern engines come equipped with a PCV system that routes all of the gasses and oil from the crankcase back into the intake manifold for combustion. This is to reduce emissions by recycling unburnt gasses back into the combustion chamber to be burned up inside of the cylinder. However, the negative side effect is that gasses concentrated with oil can clog up the intake valves with black soot, which results in poor engine performance and fuel efficiency. An oil catch can solves this issue by collecting or "catching" that excess oil from the PCV system so that only the gasses pass through back into the intake manifold, keeping the intake valves clean. This is especially important with a direct injection, or GDI engine, because a direct injection engine's valves are not cleaned by the engine's fuel from the fuel injectors, unlike a port injected or carburated engine.
