On September 26, 2024, the Bird City Network, in collaboration with the American Bird Conservancy (ABC) and Environment for the Americas (EFTA), proudly launched this groundbreaking initiative aimed at promoting bird conservation and creating healthier communities for both people and birds.

Reducing Threats: Minimizing light pollution, window strikes, and pesticide use.

Public Awareness: Engaging the community in birdwatching and conservation activities.

Research and Monitoring: Collaborating with scientists to study bird populations.

Located just over an hour from Sao Paulo and the International Airport, Peruibe is home to the most biodiverse and threatened biome on the planet, the Atlantic Forest. With more than 500 species of birds, including the endangered red-tailed parrot and bare-throated bellbird, Peruibe stands as a beacon of hope for bird conservation.
