The weekend back home in New York was just kicking off starting with this (C) train run. I was trying to get the (M) train via Jamaica Local before doing this, but I just got unlucky with my timing. However, I was lucky enough to find the R211T (C) train and I got a lucky catch. What a way to start the week that I am home in New York off from my design and animation courses for a week by going to Friday Night SmackDown at Madison Square Garden which took place on the same day I took this run. Unfortunately, I don’t have clips that I took from SmackDown, but if you look at the June 28, 2024 episode on Peacock when it shows up, you’ll be able to witness what I witness. Peacock uploads RAW and SmackDown episodes 30 days after their original air date. While there was a lot of exciting things at SmackDown, there was controversy with Fox and how they sabotaged the show a lot. I’ll talk a little bit more about my experience at SmackDown on the leg to 168 St. But this was a fun journey and I hope you guys enjoy this one. Following this roundtrip, I will have my 2nd set of rush hour runs on the (D) train, my rush hour runs on the R68 (B) train, and the completion of my first R68 and R68A (Q) train roundtrips. Before the 63 St Shutdown which affected the entire system, I covered the R68 (Q) train to Yorkville-96 St, and the R68A (Q) train to Coney Island. During this week I was back, I did it the other way around to complete the roundtrips with both those sets on the (Q). The reason I took care of those sets of runs was in preparation for the Brighton Line reconstruction. The accessibility reconstruction at Church Av starting August 5 will require the closure of the station in two phases and will require the suspension of Brighton Express service, meaning that (B) trains will run Local in both directions at all times until the end of the year.
