This kit was probably one of the more challenging I have built in my approximatley 7 years of model building. It was a kit which required my full attention to build and really got my brain working. Having never dived into the world of railway cranes before, this provided me with an interesting understanding of their operation. The kit however, feels like it needs an update, the instructions included numbers which didn't correspond to the sprues and they were not the greatest image quality, resulting in some internet research to find where components went. It would be good for these parts to come in a box to prevent damage to parts and maybe it would have been good for dapol to throw a few of their own couplings in. However, I understand these were not the case maybe simply to keep the price at a reasonable level. I would say this kit is more for cosmetic use and the odd operation for a photography session, however it cannot replace the standard Hornby cranes. Saying that, still alot of fun to build during lockdown.

This model I would personally say should only be purchases by an experienced modeller. However, with the correct attention to detail and patience, I would say it could be easily built by most experience levels.
