hey out there. hope you're finding your way through time & space today. i just crossed the sea! spent the past 6 weeks following some musical, ancestral, and friendship threads to Ireland, England & Wales. this tune has been my sidekick through the landing back home process. I started figuring out an arrangement on my last night in the UK, in a valley, in a field, in a tent. and now here I am playing it in my bedroom 4,000 miles away. very strange, very awesome.

this is an old time American tune associated with the Cumberland Plateau region of south central Kentucky and middle Tennessee, and the Ozarks in the midwest (music and land & how they reflect each other and carry story and memory yeahh oh yes!) the earliest known recording is from these guys exactly 100 years ago in 1924

I picked and choosed my favorite of the floating verses from around town so to say, and added my own last verse because I needed another rhyming stanza to end with.

thanks for being here :)
love.
