অধ্যাপক আব্দুল্লাহ আবু সায়ীদ, সভাপতি, বিশ্বসাহিত্য কেন্দ্র, এসডিজি বাস্তবায়নে নাগরিক প্ল্যাটফর্ম, বাংলাদেশ-এর আয়োজনে যুব সম্মেলন ২০১৮: বাংলাদেশ ও এজেন্ডা ২০৩০ – তারুণ্যের প্রত্যাশা, শীর্ষক সম্মেলনের সমাপনী অধিবেশনে সম্মানিত বক্তা হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

তিনি তার বক্তব্য প্রদান করার সময় তরুণদের উদ্দেশ্যে বলেন যে তরুণদের মত সবারই অনেক দাবি আছে। সকলেই সেই দাবি পূরণের জন্য বিভিন্ন ভাবে সরকারের কাছে আবেদন করি থাকি। কিন্তু, এখন সময় নিজেদের দাবি নিজেদের আদায় করার জন্য পদক্ষেপ নেয়ার। এই বলে তিনি তরুণদের উদ্বুদ্ধ করেন যে এখন এইসব দাবি আদায় করতে হলে তরুণদের বিশাল ভূমিকা রয়েছে।

Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Chairman, World Literature Centre, was present as the distinguished speaker at the Youth Conference 2018: Bangladesh and Agenda 2030 – Aspirations of the youth, organised by Citizen’s Platform for SDGs, Bangladesh.
In his speech, Professor Sayeed stated how people have always spoken about their demands for the government to fulfil it. He feels, it is time that people start taking initiatives on their own to fulfil those demands.
To do so, the youth have the biggest role to play and they have to lead the action.
