In this talk from the San Francisco Zen Center archives, Shunryu Suzuki gives the talk which eventually provided the title for the book “Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind” – and which also gave the name to Beginner’s Mind Temple, our residential and public practice space in San Francisco. Suzuki Roshi explores the nature of the effort of Zen practice, honing in on the real difficulties we may experience in our own practice, and in life. Recorded on Nov. 11, 1965.
