In the "Einfach Bauen" (build simple) research project, the Technical University of Munich investigated how buildings can be constructed to be robust, durable and technically simple.
The complexity of buildings has been increasing steadily for decades. This includes, for example, stability, heat, moisture, fire and noise protection, hygiene and health as well as user comfort. This is reflected in an almost unmanageable number of standards and laws. The result of this complexity is a high error rate in planning and execution as well as excessive demands on building owners and users.
The goal of "Einfach Bauen" is therefore to initiate a counteracting construction development and to set an impulse in the German construction industry. The results of the project were translated into guidelines that were applied to the design of three pilot houses in Bad Aibling. The design comes from the architectural office of Florian Nagler, Professor of Architectural Design and Construction at TUM.
