Conductor Lorenzo Lopez has won the prestigious Resipighi Prize and will conduct the Chamber Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall.

A native of the Cleveland area, Lorenzo is of Honduran and Puerto Rican descent, and he talks with CoolCleveland's Thomas Mulready about how his cultural heritage and his background as a singer inform his conducting.

Also discussed are some of his recent achievements conducting for City Music in iconic venues throughout the region, and his recent work with the Romanian Chamber Orchestra, who he returns to work with later this year. He is also scheduled to conduct in California, Honduras and his hometown of Cleveland throughout the next year.
