Come explore the fossil-filled wall with me at the Caesar Creek State Park Spillway area! If you have never been here before, this video will give you a good idea for what to expect while searching here.
• Permits are required to collect items (stop at the Visitor's Center to obtain a FREE permit).
• No tools are allowed when collecting (no rock hammers, rotary drills, etc.)
Some of the different types of fossils that are common in this area are: Brachiopod (sea shell-looking fossils), Cephalopods (looks like a stack of coins), Bryozoan (branch-like coral), Gastropods (ice cream-like swirl shells), Crinoids (look kind of like a spinal column), Horn Coral (looks like a bull's horn or dinosaur teeth), and Trilobites (kind of like a giant fossilized rolly-polly or pill bug).
Another video coming soon about these amazing fossils, but coming from private land... it'll be a GOOD one!!
Thanks so much for watching, and God Bless!
