Sikidang Crater was formed from a volcanic eruption in the Dieng Plateau area many years ago and is located on flat ground, so visitors are free to see hot mud erupting and gas or thick white smoke billowing in the air.[1] Until now this crater is still active. This crater on average moves every four years, making tourists flock to witness volcanic activity directly to see the mud and smoke bursts from the bottom of the crater. From the burst the smell of smoke is quite strong and it is recommended to use a mask.
