Drill Flow

1. The sequence begins with a pass from the goalkeeper to one of the central defenders
2. The central defenders pass the ball back and forth, get closer to the marked off zone, and decide which wing they’ll use for the attack
3. This creates a 4v4 situation as the team building up tries to score points by passing into a mini goal on one of the wings or dribbling over the dribble line in the center
4. The green team’s objective is to press in midfield and, if able to gain possession, transition quickly to reach the goal and finish quickly

Organization

1. Mark the playing field as shown in the graphic
2. Two mini goals behind the halfway line
3. Divide players into two teams
4. Extra balls with the goalkeeper

Coaching Points

1. Pressing in midfield
2. Staying connected (keeping distance to each other constant)
3. Steering build-up play in a certain direction
4. Passing weight and direction
5. Quick transitional play

Variations

1. Make it a competition: Who can score the most points?
2. Limit touches
3. Limit the time in which attacks have to be carried out
