เมื่อครั้งพระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ 5 เสด็จประพาสยุโรปครั้งที่ 2 นั้น นายปอล ลิงส์เก (Paul Linkle) นายแตรกองทหารราบชาวเยอรมัน ได้แต่งเพลงถวายพระเกียรติ ณ เมืองคัสเซล เยอรมัน เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ ๙ สิงหาคม รัตนโกสินทรศก ๑๒๖ โดยเป็นเวลาที่พระองค์ท่านได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินไปยังพระราชวังวิลเลียมเฮอร์และได้ทรงร่วมเสวยพระกระยาหารค่ำกับราชวงศ์ชั้นสูงฝ่ายเยอรมัน และนายแตร ปอล ลิงส์เก ก็เริ่มบรรเลงบทเพลงถวายพระเกียรติพระองค์ท่านในชื่อเพลงSiamesische Wacht Parade หรือในภาษาอังกฤษเรียกว่า Siamese Patrol และชื่อเพลงนี้เป็นชื่อพระราชทานนามโดยสมเด็จพระเจ้าเอมเปอเรอของเยอรมันด้วย สำหรับการบันทึกเสียงเพลงนี้ มิสเตอร์โทมัส อัลวา เอดิสัน (Edison) นักประดิษฐ์เครื่องเล่นกระบอกเสียง ได้นำเพลงดังกล่าวบันทึกลงกระบอกเสียงชนิดสีดำ รหัสกระบอก 9661 ส่วนสมุดโน้ตเพลงหรือ Music Sheet นั้น หน้าปกได้ถูกวาดเป็นรูปกองดุริยางค์ทหารสยามขณะเดินสวนสนาม ส่วนฉากหลังเป็นพระบรมมหาราชวังและหอนาฬิกาหลวง ส่วนข้อความด้านบนสุดของสมุดโน้ตนี้ได้ตีพิมพ์เป็นภาษาเยอรมันว่าไว้ว่า Senier Majestat Tschulalongkorn Konig bon Siam chrfurchtsuoll gweidmet และภาษาอังกฤษคือ Respectfully Decicated to the King of siam

When King Chulalongkorn Rama V traveled to Europe for the second time, Mr. Paul Linkle (Paul Linkle), the German infantry division trumpet.
