UPDATED 8/15/2024:
It's been quite some time, but the prognosis is the same as my 12/11/2023 update. My son's torture testing for almost a year is looking good. He closes his bedroom door for privacy, but I can hear him flopping onto his bed from a standing position and the mattress doesn't deform as it would without the frame. The frame positively works.

UPDATED 12/11/2023:
GOOD NEWS! It does look like the frame helps the inflatable mattress from bulging (as already mentioned) and unexpectedly, from deflating over time. My son's mattress does seem to have lost SOME air, but after a certain point, it stopped. The mattress is still pretty solid, with a good amount of air in it . I actually thought I'd have to reinflate the mattress after a month, but as of right now, that's not the case.

Regarding the old mattress that was leaking, I spent time troubleshooting the valve and could not figure out how the mattress was losing air. I'm thinking it has to do with the bulging, because the old mattress didn't start losing air at a faster rate until the bulging occurred. Once that happened, it had to be reinflated every 2 days, at first, then every day after about 2 months. Knowing the frame can help prevent the bulging, I feel it's a good overall solution to the 2 problems that plagued my inflatable mattress. I'm sure it could help yours, if implemented upon installation of the mattress.

UPDATED 11/21/2023:
Amazon BLACK FRIDAY deal on this exact mattress, $37.59. Might be worth getting it just to even test it out.

UPDATED 11/19/2023:
I've had the frame on about 2 weeks now and it's looking really good. I've yet to put more air, but I think the frame is keeping the mattress compressed so even if it did lose air (hard to tell), the mattress still feels firm. I'm also wondering if by preventing the sides from bulging out, that that's what might prevent the leaking. If this mattress makes it through a month without adding air, I'll be convinced that is what's happening. Will leave another update in 3 weeks.

ORIGINAL POST:
I've decided to get my son's air mattress replaced with a new one to see if the frame I made for him will actually keep the sides of a new mattress from bulging. This is also Part 1 of 2 for attempting to troubleshoot the leaking air problem with his old mattress. In this part 1 video, I'll first get his new mattress setup and briefly mention the problems I had with that...next.
