A longitudinal copper fin (k = 380 W/m deg. C) 600 mm long and 5 mm diameter is exposed to air stream at 20 deg. C. The convective heat transfer coefficient h is 20 W/m2 deg. C. If the fin base temperature is 150 deg. C.
Determine
(i) Heat transferred in kJ/h and
(ii) Efficiency of fin.
Assume that fin is insulated at the tip.
