Welcome to my health journey 2024 Week 7. I lost 1.3 lbs over the course of a week ski vacation in Colorado

I focused on eating a decent sized breakfast that provided energy for the day while having a small lunch (if any) and a large dinner. This allowed me to have energy, feel full, and maintain a calorie deficit.

I limited empty calories in beverages, drinking primarily water. If I did chose to drink, it was light beer what really kept my calorie count in check.

That being said, I have lost 8.7 lbs since Jan 1 and am averaging over a lb a week.

I had a great trip with great friends and even made some progress. I came back from this trip feeling refreshed and ready for the work week.

Lets be active, keep an eye on what we eat, and have a good week! Keep it up team.

If you missed me before....
I am Andy, and I am a home cook that has lived all over the world. I started a 2000 calorie daily intake Jan 1, 2024

I love to eat and have not been paying attention to portion control for the last ten years. My over consumption has lead me to become obese.

I have not cared, but I am tired of letting it affect my life negatively.
I am tired all the time, anxious, have bad sleep apnea and low confidence.
I do not enjoy being active like I once was and I miss it.

It is time for a change for me. The start of 2024 is a good time to make a change as cliche as that is. I will be following a 2000 calorie daily average calorie intake for the year. I have been consuming between 3000-4000 calories a day and the lbs have added up. I am still active, running several times a week as well as strength training, but I am unable to train like I desire.

As of Jan 1 I was 197 lbs, 28% body fat, and had a BMI of 30. That's Obese. I am only 5'8 on a good day.

My starting goal is to be under 175 lbs by fourth of July 2024 and sustain that. If I do that, I believe I will have more energy, sleep better, and be more confident.

As of Jan 14 I am 191.8 lbs 26.2% and 29.2 BMI.

I encourage you to join me on my journey. Join at anytime!
Thanks for your support and kill your goals!
