Germany handed the rest of the teams a proper warning in Munich on Friday, hammering Scotland by 5-1 in the curtain-raiser of the tournament, Jamal Musiala, Niclas Fullkrug and Toni Kroos were some of the standout players on the day as the hosts began their tournament in style. Florian Wirtz opened the scoring for Germany in the 10th minute of the match, and from there on it was just a landslide. Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz scored the first half itself to add on to the misery of Scotland in the first half.

The Scots saw a red card in the first half and then conceded 2 goals from Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can - both substituted into the play in the second half - to complete a 1-5 thrashing at the Allianz Arena on Friday evening.
