A comparison video on the Graco RTX2500 and the Duotex by Marshalltown. I have had The Graco for about two years now and it has broken down over 10 times. Saying that its problematic is an understatement. About 90% of our houses are orange peel texture so we  use a rig about 20 hours a month. When functioning correctly the Graco RTX2500 ($2,900) provides more than enough power to spray a regular 3 bedroom 2 bath build in under two hours. The problem is that it's a roll of the dice each time you use it. All the breakdowns that we have encountered have been tied to the new smart start feature that most of the new Graco line up has. This feature allows the machine to turn off by itself when you release the trigger which extends engine life ,reduces noise, wear etc... Again when working it's great but I feel this innovative feature is the issue. Most of the time its broken down  has been mid stream, shuts down completely and smells a little burnt. My old Graco model (discontinued) lasted me over 8 year with out any major problems.  One thing that I can say is that Graco Customer Service is first class they have repaired or replaced it every single time. The problem is I would be without a rig for over a month every time.

Which is why I purchased the DUOTEX by Marshalltown ($1,500). I called to inquire about the rig while they were running a promotion so shipping was free, which is a big deal when you live on an island. We have had it for about 3 months now and have used it to spay cement base, heavy texture and light orange peel. Really impressed with the pumping power and strength. Thankfully we haven't had any breakdowns. One of the key differences of both rigs besides the price is the power the Duotex is able to pump thicker material faster.
